18 Apr 2024

Rupali, a 13-year-old girl from a low-income household living on the outskirts of Kolkata, changed her life when she discovered karate. Her remarkable advancement in karate was sparked by encouragement from the CRY team to pursue the discipline. She battled financially, but her accomplishments, many medals, and national recognition showcased her extraordinary talent and commitment.

In addition to being a personal accomplishment, Rupali’s rise in karate serves as an example of how drive and encouragement can get over even the most difficult challenges. Rupali, a green belt who is pursuing her black belt, aspires to become a professional karate fighter and is a living example of the strength of perseverance and aspiration. Her journey from a Kolkata slum to global recognition highlights the life-changing power of discovering and developing untapped abilities.

This relates to the initiative First Serve is trying to address because both CRY and First Serve are helping children to have the opportunity to play sports who came from underprivileged families and the kids would’ve never gotten the opportunity to play the sports without the assistance of the applicable resources.
